"Bored..."
Narcissa blinked as she tried to focus on a single flame in the fire pit. As soon as she caught one with her eyes though, it would disappear amongst the others. She loved this activity, mainly because it kept her occupied when she was like this.
"Bored..."
After nearly ten minutes of staring, Narcissa could feel her eyes tearing up. She blinked rapidly, clearing herself of the watery feeling and she sat back into the couch in the commons. How was it that with so many students, she wasn't with anyone at the moment? She was, so say the least, bored.
"Bored. Bored. Booooored."
She liked the way the word felt as she rolled it around in her head. Bored. It was so empty a word. Like a hole that could never be filled. That must be why it meant what it did. The bordome was neverending it seemed.
"Great. I'm thinking about the very word that is plauging me. I need something to do!"
Narcissa rolled off the couch and got to her feet. Something to do... she walked to the back of the couch and perched herself on top of it. She focused on the door to the commons and willed someone into the room. "C'mon!" she thought as she watched the door intently.
"Open!"

Sorry ya'll for stealing this post, but I couldn't resist!
Bellatrix Black stepped into the crowded commons room, a bit grouchy. Today hadn't exactly gone according to plan. For starters, she had stubbed her toe on the way to dinner. And then at dinner nothing had appealed to her ever picky stomache. Of course Roddy had compelled her to eat something (the dear was always concerned for her health) but once again she hadn't felt like eating. She didn't have an eating disorder or anything, she just had better things to do than eat. So she had returned to the commons room, stomache growling, and a headache starting.
The room was rather crowded, and she had hoped to settle by the fire in one of the cosy chairs as she usually did, but her customary spot was filled by a blonde girl. She wanted to tell the girl to get the hell out of her chair, but she didn't really want to cause a stir. And besides, she didn't get what she wanted when she got angry. So the chair had to be compromised.
But a double take revealed that the infamous chair stealer was none other than her little sister. "Cissy? Is that you?" Of course it was her, and that was a rather stupid question, but Cissy probably wouldn't point that out. At times she wondered if Cissy was scared of her older sisters (especially Bella) because after all they had picked on her a fair deal when they were younger. And then there was that whole incident with the cat... Eh. She took a seat by her youngest sister, and smiled at her graciously.
"Hey little 'sis. How are you?"

The door hadn't opened when she had willed it. So, Narcissa had sat back down into the seat to wait for someone. She was staring back into the fire when someone came up to her. Narcissa recognized her sister in a heartbeat.
"Oh thank Merlin," Narcissa smiled as Bellatrix sat down next to her. "Someone to talk to. You'd have no idea how bored I was!"
She smiled at her sister. But something about Bellatrix was off. "You don't look too good," she said with a worried frown. "Is your day going okay?"

Bella shrugged carelessly. "Yeah, it's been fine." Although she liked her sister she didn't really want to elaborate on the events of the day. It seemed that it was best to leave it in the past, and focus on seeing how her sister was. Narcissa seemed fine to Bella, but she had never been astute at reading her sister's emotions. Often when Narcissa was angry Bella was the last person to discover it, and was often the one who was the brunt of the anger. She shook away her memories, and turned to her blonde little sister.
"So, how are you?"
Sorry this is so short!

OOC: SORRY!!!!!!!! I totally forgot about the common rooms. Whoops
---
"Oh, I'm as fine as I can be," she smiled. "Just bored. I was thinking of picking up a book, but I'm not really in the mood. I feel like if I pick up a book I'll just become more bored and not be able to concentrate. So..."
She motioned to the fire.
"I've been staring at the flames." She looked back into the burning embers. "What have you been doing all day? Keeping busy, no doubt."

Bella shrugged casually. What had she done that day? It seemed like the day had stretched on and on, spreading out across the hours like a blanket. Boredom had been commonplace, she was sure of that, but what she had actually done was no longer in the forefront of her mind. She struggled to remember, but didn't want to seem dim. After all, she was extremely intelligent, it was just that she was tired.
"I performed a Confundus charm on a Gryffindor after lunch," she said with a slight shrug. "That was about the only important thing, really. It was rather funny, but lost its ingenuity after a while. You can only be amused by a confused person for so long before it ceases to be interesting. Anyhow, how was your day?"

"Yes, I can see where that would lose it's amusement after a while. Oh, my day was fine," she aquiesed. "Merely boring as all Hades, so now I've resigned myself to simply lying about. I'll probably turn in quite early just so that I won't have to deal with the boredom. Or perhaps read a book. Do you know of any good ones?"
She glanced at here sister. "You're sure you're okay?"

Bella smiled cryptically and flipped her hair over her shoulder. She admitted freely that she didn't identify well with her youngest sister, she had always been much closer to Andromeda. But despite their seperation, Narcissa could tell quite easily when Bella was annoyed or upset.
"Oh, I'm fine. Ummm... A good book?" She thought about it for a few moments, and offered up the standard Slytherin reading list. "Purity Within the Wizarding World, by Marinda Goyle. It was pretty good." Actually, it had been rather dull, but contained a great deal of information abouty varying wizard families and or traitor families.

Narcissa wasn't sure what was up with Bella, but she also knew better than to push her big sisters. First, it wasn't her place. Second, she always wound up on the losing side of any fights they might have, and she wasn't about to initiate one.
"I've read it already," Narcissa frowned. "Haven't we all?" she asked, looking around the common room. "I don't know... I suppose I'll go work on some homework, or something equally boring. Maybe I'll go find some first years to terrorize. But, I think I'm a bit too lazy for that at the moment. I'm going to have trouble just making it to my dorm to get my books."

Bella nodded quickly, rather proud that her little sister had had the initative to read the book on her own without being prod. Andie had not been so accepting, nor had she ever read the book. It seemed that Narcissa was correct, and most of them had already, but there were a few who had not yet been enlightened. Or bored to death. But the very fact that Cissy had managed to choke down most of the text was indicative of her character. This girl was most likely quite tenacious (Bella knew that already) and had good concentration.
"You have fun with that," she said, in reference to Narcissa's comment about terrorising first years. After all, it was one of her own favourite past times. "I might even join you."
((Agh, so short. But we are running out of things to say... I'm going to have to get a global plot together!))
