Narcissa had been cooped up for too long, she decided. She wanted to see more of the grounds, and the first thing she had seen when she left the castle had been the large lake. She hurried down to its side and kicked off her shoes. She dipped a toe into the cool water and smiled.
Narcissa had put her suit on under her clothes, thankfully, so she quickly stripped down to just that and found her way to a rock. Putting her hands up above her head, Narcissa pushed off and dove straight down into the clear water. When she surfaced, she saw someone standing on the beach.

Em desperatly needed some fresh air after what her day had been like. She decided that since she was already outside, why not take a stroll next to the lake on the grounds. When she arrived at her destinatiom, she found school robes strewn around the beach, and there was a gawping person in the water

"Hey!" Narcissa called when she saw the student. "You're Vance, right?" She swam closer to the beach grounds and summoned her robes back to her. With a quick transfiguration she had a soft beach towel to wrap around her. "I'm a Black sister," she introduced herself as she normally did. "The youngest, Narcissa." Most people knew of her family, and if they were going to like her, normally they based their opinion on her name.

When the Slytherin swam up to her, Em was shocked. She was normally ignored or thought of as dumb. But this person was actually being nice. "Yeah, that's me." she said, her voice trembling. " I like to be called Em, if you don't mind. Narcissa's a long name, too."
The girl was trying to not get in over her head so she stuck her hand out for the other girl to shake. "Are you taking Muggle Studies?"

Narcissa frowned. "Muggle studies? No." She didn't embelish. Maybe this girl didn't know of her family. "Well, Vance," she said--ignoring her request to be called Em. "What are you up to around here? Going for a swim?"

" No", Em replied," I didn't know that other people swam in the Lake besides myself. And," she sighed, "I'm kinda self-conistious. But if your ready to try, I'll take a dip." And she pulled off her robe, revealing a purple and black bathing suit and jumped into the freezing cold water.

Narcissa dropped her towel. "I've already been in, if you didn't notice when I swam up to you." She walked back up the same rock as earlier and did a perfect dive into the icy depths. When she came back up she brushed the water off of her face. "It's nice, isn't it?"

Em gulped. The lake was her favorite place in the world. "Yeah. The lake is gorgeous. Almost as pretty as... As Switzerland." Those words hung in the air. Switzerland was a painful experience. Then she wadded into the water and went under.

Narcissa did a few strokes in one direction before turning and doing a few more. After a little, she stopped her swimming and faced Emmeline. "So, what house are you in?" Narcissa asked the girl floating in the water. She was sure she wasn't a Gryffindor, but that didn't mean she wasn't a Hufflepuff.

Emmie grinned slyly, "I'm in Ravenclaw, and i'm a fifth year. "Em laughed, "Actually, i was supposed to be in my fourth year, but my paretns insisted that i start school since i'm kindsa smart, except in Divination."She groaned, "So, you're the youngest of your family? Does your family go here? I already know you are in Slytherin." She pointed to her green and black tie lying on the ground.

Narcissa stared in shock. "You must have heard of my family, though," she insisted. They were practiacally famous in the whole of England. "I'm Narcissa Black," she explained just in case Emmeline really didn't know just who she was talking to. "My sister is Bellatrix," she continued, using the eldest sisters name to her advantage. Even if Emmeline didn't know who she was, she was sure to know Bella. Everyone knew Bella.

"That's cool. "Em remarked, " I have a brother, and he's annyoing, yet he always there when I need him. Don't you have another sister? She's in my year. Andromeda, right?"

Narcissa frowned at Emmeline's question. Everyone knew about that row that the Black family had had. "Yes, she was my sister. She's not considered a member of our family anymore."
Narcissa swam to the edge of the lake and shook off the water as she stood. "I think I'm done swimming," she said quickly. She wrapped the towel around her for a quick second before flicking her wand and instantly becoming dry.
